FSR (Master Electrician) Renewal in BC

In 2018 Technical Safety BC announced the new requirement for Field Safety Representatives (Master Electricians) to renew their certification every 3 years by their birthdate.

In the first cycle (2018), Master Electricians were required to only register their designation as active and pay the fee. However, the 2021 cycle (and future cycles) will require Master Electricians to have completed 8 hours of continuing education in the form of "code change training" through one of the courses approved by Technical Safety BC.

CURRENT UPDATE: (October 2019)

All FSRs (Master Electricians) must complete their first cycle registration (2018) by July 31, 2019.
As of the current date, Technical Safety BC has indicated that the course approval process will open October 28, 2019.
Courses that are approved must meet the requirements listed on the Technical Safety BC syllabus.
SparkBC will be submitting our "2018 BC Electrical Code Change Course - Plus!" when the approval process opens and will alert subscribers when the course has been approved.
SparkBC course options will include LIVE and ONLINE formats.
